Today's Mama Giveaway

TodaysMama and GameStop are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.

1. What is your holiday wish for your family?

My only wish for my family is that everyone remain HEALTHY. We often take our good health for granted, but I just heard from an old friend who was recently diagnosed with cancer and something like that really makes a person start thinking about how important our health is ... without our health what do we have??

2. What is your Christmas morning tradition?

My mom's homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast . . . coffee with Bailey's for me . . . kids waking up and seeing what Santa brought (though my 17 year-old is a little old for that LOL) and us watching the kids opening their gifts. Just enjoying the kids enjoying the morning . . .

3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?

A makeover . . . a little botox and/or filler for the lines between my eyebrows and on my forehead, maybe a mini face lift or something . . . and laser hair removal. LOL

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?

hmmmmm. Just taking pictures, journaling, and documenting the season. I'm a (sometime) scrapbooker and I enjoy making a little book that documents Christmas each year.

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?

My family often played board games like Monopoly and Aggravation, and card games like Hearts and Blackjack.

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?

Santa leaves presents, unwrapped, for the children to wake up and discover in the morning.

7. Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip?

I don't know if I would want a Christmas away from home ... We used to always go to my mom's for the holiday, but when we bought our house we changed it and my mom comes to stay with us. Christmas away somewhere else wouldn't feel like Christmas to me.

8. Check out GameStop and tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop Wish List this year?

I would ask my 2 sons what they would like. I don't play a lot of video games, but both of my boys LOVE video games so I'm sure they would have quite a list for me. My little one loves everything and anything "Mario Bros." My older son loves everything and anything "Call of Duty." So I would get them something along those lines. My older son needs a new headset for sure . . . his old one is breaking. If I had to pick something for myself, I would choose one of the workout programs that goes with the Wii.

Karate Kid

We recently enrolled Ryan in Karate. Here are a couple of shots from the night he got his "uniform." The outfit has a name but I can't remember what it's called.

I still struggle with my indoor photography at night. My photos come out dark or blurry.

Little Teapot

I'm finally posting a picture from Ryan's singing program a couple of weeks ago. We got ONE halfway decent picture. The place was so crowded we had to sit OUTSIDE the multi-purpose room and look through the windows. I was not happy. Matt got in the doorway when Ryan was singing and got this shot.

They sang I'm a Little Teapot and a couple of other songs.

Ryan With Santa at Bass Pro Shop

Letter for Santa

Ryan wrote his letter to Santa last night. I know, already.

I wrote out what he wanted to say then he copied it. His writing is big so it took up two sheets of paper and he insisted that they had to be glued together.

It says, "Dear Santa, I want Hungry Hungry Hippos and Sorry Sliders for 'Chstmas.' Thank you very much. Love, Ryan Smith. (Those are board games in case you didn't know.)

He put a stamp on it and Matt took him out to the mailbox today. We wanted to save the letter, so Matt had him place it in our mailbox instead of putting it in the actual mail slot. He didn't know the difference.

Matt took him to Bass Pro Shop today. They have a kind of winter wonderland thing going on. Kids get to make a reindeer ornament. Santa is supposed to be there so hopefully I will have a Santa picture to post later today.
